Viral Videos How This One Happened

Viral Videos, Accidents or Planned?

Was this one Planned?

I couldn’t take my eyes off this when I first ran across it on YouTube.

The Number of views in less than a week are astounding.   Now it turns out that it is a project created by College Students completing their Media Degrees…..to be deemed successful required 100,000  views.

Since their category included animals and children  the two most popular categories on YouTube…they probably did it in 20 minutes!

Here is a video with the  disclaimer stating that the video was the work of students.   The original video posted by another student explaining about how it was done  was removed, but here is a very short one from the school showing how they “constructed” the Eagle.

That was very interesting, I didn’t know this was a hoax (or a student’s project)when I saw it and I was as shocked as everybody else.

It would be interesting to see the actual green screen work or how it was created don’t you think?

      Hi Sergion,

There is another video that shows part of the work…moving drawing of the bird and a then a working image of the “baby.”

I would theorize they set up and shot the whole scene and then imposed (?) the completed Eagle and baby into their video…the timing of the man noticing what is going on is just a little off, plus in that same area someone really slowed the video down and one of the eagles wings was missing for a few slides.

Well I’m glad that was a hoax! I can see how it would upset a lot of people finding that out though. If you don’t really watch it it looks very convincing.

    Enjoy the journey.

      Hi Mandy,

I watched it several times, still though it was “Real” though the wings looked a little strange when the Eagle
      was “snatching” the child.
The video showing how they drew and constructed the eagle has now
been banned! It was posted by another student with a different account.

Expect the original to go quite soon as it has the same music unless they obtained consent!
A lesson we can all take to heart…imagine having a video with over 40 million views and it gets banned
      for copyright infringement!

    Hi Cararta,
It’s amazing to see what type of videos can become viral these days. Some people just have too much time on their hands.
I definitely want to incorporate videos into my business in 2013. However, I think I’ll stay away from playing hoaxes. I just don’t have the time.
I wish you the very best in 2013!

      Hi RobG,

I couldn’t resist posting it. Checked on it today over 40 million views and still going!
The disclaimer video that I had posted got banned, so have posted one from the School showing a little
of the work they did in creating the Eagle…and the Baby.
No sound but interesting anyway. The banned video had part of their video in it with that
      copyrighted music!

        No! I’m not Loopy!
Comment Luv had a wee problem?

Downloaded an update yesterday so that maybe the
        Double Dipping is gone.
Deleting it didn’t fix it, it
just did it again…so I’m leaving for Google to
        rap me for duplicate comments!

I had heard about this so by the time I saw it I knew that it was created by college students and here I am thinking to myself they are geniuses. All for a school project, just amazing. Gosh, kids are so smart today!

It was pretty cool to watch though because it looked so real.

For me it looked totally real until I saw the making of – I just wondered how they made the Eagle snatch the Kid.

Maybe I should start making some Videos too and Drive some Traffic but I’m also scared what happens, when 100.000 clicks hit my site suddenly each day 😉

      Hi Andy,

Looked real to me, even after they kept saying it was manufactured!

Get the 100,000 and let Host Gator figure it out!
