Marketing via Selling

Marketing via selling gives you a choice

of strategies to use.

Message not Seen, Selling doesn't happen

Message not Seen, Selling doesn’t happen

Rain and some more Rain…again today, so I am
spending some time inside..listening to Politics and reading emails!!!!  Selling isn’t what it is cracked up to be, so I’m doing research.  Maybe I’ll share.

Chris Munch loves old stories…
here is one he used in an email I received this a.m.

“Getting Your Message Across Doesn’t Always Work”

“Getting Your Message Across”

“There was a terrible flood and a devout Christian was stuck on a roof avoiding the rising flood water.

A guy in a boat came along and said “Hop in. I’ll take you to dry land.”

The Christian said “No. Save someone else. I’ll be fine. God will

rescue me.”

Then another boat came along. Same thing…the Christian waves the boat off. “I’m okay. God’s going to rescue me. I have faith.”

A Helicopter…?

Finally a helicopter comes along but the crew can’t convince him

to get winched up to safety.

“Don’t worry about me,” he says. “God is going to save me.”

The waters keep rising and the man drowns.

When he gets to heaven he’s angry and complains to God

“I had faith that you’d save me and you let me drown.”

God says:

“I don’t know what you mean. I sent 2 boats and a helicopter!”

“Sometimes people See the Message, but just don’t get the Message.”
Hmmm..
Chris tied it into getting your email messages through.

But this applies to Selling in general
cause if you aren’t getting your message through
Might as well give it up as a lost cause.

How  Does Selling Really Work?

Have a Message
Cause  or request an Action
People Join up  or Buy (Conversions)
Earn some Income or collect likes or grow an email list!
A whole Big Plate of Yes!!!!
On the other hand you can end up with this:
No Message
No Action
No Conversions
No Income
A whole Big Plate of No.
  • Regardless of the vehicle you use to deliver your sales message:
  • Facebook Ads
  • Blog posts on your WordPress  Domain
  • Articles posted on your Blogspot blog,
  • Email messages
  • it brings us back to this simple fact:

The message you are delivering has to connect and FAST.

Most  stats I have read seem to think that you have less than 2 seconds to hook the fish and start reeling it in.

In other words if your prospect looks and leaves, regardless of the source of your Message…you are in trouble.

Holds true even for Videos.

So what is a guy (or girl) to do?

Content Curation is the New Affiliate Marketing Craze

Use of Curation has Sky Rocketed Content Curation into the New Affiliate Marketing Craze!

Fill up your niche sites with curated content, images and videos using a content curation system that works 24×7 finding relevant content for you to use…

Many little sites just set up as a glorified sales page aren’t producing anymore…no earth shaking content, no branding and since the death of back link farms… nothing there to attract organic traffic.

Here are some cures being touted:

Content Curation = Blogging Overload Solved

Content Curation = Blogging Overload Solved

Marketing isn’t easy without some help.

You can either go for outsourcing or doing it yourself, or sign up for a vendor who provides the services you need.

There might be an alternative.  Read this.

 How Content Curation Works

How Content Curation Works

Here is a link to a Video that will explain even more about Content Curation...Learn More Here.

Keeping up to date on a blog, sometimes becomes a thankless task.

Working hours on end, creating fresh original content  can become a drag.

Many bloggers, affiliate marketers, and website owners become over loaded.

Contrary to what you are often enticed to buy in the market place, there really isn’t a “push button” set it up onetime and leave town solution.

Since you need a certain amount of content optimized for search engine traffic that you aren’t busting the budget paying for,  what is the solution?

Content Curation may be the cure for the Pain!

Well, I bought this plugin and am trying it on a site I own.

The future will tell if it really helps as much as it says.

Since I’m not good with keywords, think I overdid my setup, so I’m going back and clean things up a bit and watch what happens.

I’m certainly getting excerpts from compatible websites and blogs…Changed one of my setting so I can edit anything that comes in as long as I leave the setting for found information on “Draft”.

The biggest snafu right now is clearing out the mess I made when I let it run with automatically post for several weeks and ended up with 403 pages of content.  Not good.

Must get better at reading the setup instructions and following.

Dumb of me because there are very easy to access tutorials that walk you through it.

Helpers are a helper if you use them correctly.

Come back again in a week or so, or else sign up below your comment to get notified when I post again and get the update.

Comment below or Leave us a Like!

I’d like to know if you have ever done something as dumb when working on your site!

Thanks for Visiting.

What You Ought to Know About Email Marketing

It isn’t the Old Days. You Need to Do More.

Email Marketing With an Email List Has Changed.  Did You?

Hi,

Using Email Marketing to promoting products and services via email used to be easy about a decade or so ago, because email was still pretty new and people were excited to get mail.

Those were the first words I read in an email from my marketing friend who knows email marketing.  Then he said:

Now all that’s changed.

You need to be on top of the best email strategies in order to get readers to open, read and click on your links.

Then he explained and offered three tips to use with email marketing.  Because there are just some things that you ought to know.

Here are three tips to boost your response rate…

1. Give People a Reason to Open Your Emails

Here’s a funny thing…

People sign up for newsletters and then they never read them.

Sure, they have good intentions, but when the newsletter hits their inboxes they see nothing compelling enough to make them click on the email and start reading it.

The solution?

You need to write juicy subject lines that virtually compel people to open your emails.

For example, here’s a boring subject line:

“Weight loss tips”

Here’s a better one:

“The #1 secret for getting rid of belly fat –

you won’t believe this!”

Which one would you click on?

If you’re like most people, you’ll click on the second one because it arouses your curiosity and promises a benefit.

(take a look at ‘Inbox Economics’ for more).

2. Gain Your Readers’ Trust

So, you created a sweet subject line that got people to open your email. Now you need to create good content so that they read your entire email.

As a bonus, if they like what they see in one email, then they’re more likely to open and read your future emails.

So how do you gain readers’ trust?

Like this:

  • * Be honest with your product recommendations. If you wouldn’t recommend it to your mother or your best friend, don’t recommend it to your list.

  • * Give your readers what they want and expect. If they signed up for golf tips, give them the very best tips you can. If they signed up for your list expecting to get discounts on products, then be sure you offer those discounts frequently.

3. Get People Used to Promotional Recommendations

Sometimes people think they have to “nurture” their list by giving only 100% free content for the first few weeks.

NOT true!

You want to give your subscribers the very best recommendations for products and services, which will of course include paid offers.

That’s why you should promote paid offers from email #1, which also lets your readers know what to expect from day #1.

Okay, so those are three proven tips for boosting your response rate-but these are really just the tip of the iceberg.

If you want to know what one of the net’s top marketers knows about getting readers to open, read and buy from your emails, then go Read what he says Click Here.

Now just to stir the pot, a mentor I am following (very successful) says you need to layoff the selling and give people a chance to get to know you.

With that said,  would you send selling emails from day #1 and every time?

Two different  Marketers, two different points of view.

Hmm.

Gets confusing doesn’t.

So study up so you can make some changes to upgrade your email marketing to this new year!

The tips and strategy and best practices change from year to year.

So Change Yours!!

To Your success,

Content Marketing for SEO

At last when it comes to using content marketing for SEO there is an easy answer!

This answer just depends on who you listen to. I’ve been watching some Google videos about SEO and ranking your website or pages (not the same thing)…

Almost every one has ended with the same words…

Optimize your website and your content for intended human readers, not for a robot.

Content Marketing is king

Content Marketing is king

You can use search engine optimization(SEO)to make your content easier for your readers to find, read and also move within your site to related or relevant content.

That old quote, “killing two birds with one stone” certainly applies!

Good content organization and correct linking evolve into pleasure for your readers while enabling search engine robots to serve up what you have shared.

In other words spend your time making your content easy to read, deliver what you promised in your headline and forget loading it up with keywords for keyword loving search engine robots.

Old, but new again.

Actually marketing with content never went away.

Fresh “quality” content devoted to answering questions and solving problems will always have a seat at the dinner table.

So to just keep things straight, this article’s content could be listed under

  • Marketing,
  • SEO
  • Copy Writing or even
  • Blogging or
  • Traffic

all of which is the end goal of all the writing and sharing you spend time and money doing.

But our headline (title) promised some tidbits about Content Marketing and SEO.

Since you are interested in using content as the foundation and base for your marketing, it makes sense to construct it in such a way that people can find it and make use of it.

Also keep up to date by changing your site structure (not the pretty part) but how you connect content together.

If you have hundreds of articles then you want the ones that cover a similar topic to at least shake hands so your reader has a clue and can find them.

Maile Ohye a Google Developer Tech Lead has made several videos and explains some of the steps involved.

I shared a video called “5 common mistakes in SEO (and 6 good ideas)” because it not only covers SEO, but content and some great tips on what to include in it and even how to do your SEO optimization at the same time.

It sometimes gets confusing and hard to remember where you are going and how to get there!

She starts off the video with emphasis on basically using your article description or “rich snippet” to highlight whatever product or service you are selling (directed more to physical products than internet marketers hawking digital products!).

However, here is the secret, this and several more of her suggestions can be altered just a little and used for the same purpose by any kind of content marketer.

It is going to be up to you to develop a strategy so you can benefit from SEO while you are also providing valuable content to your readers.

  • Some of the things to keep in mind are:
  • How does content marketing work
  • Why Content matters
  • Content marketing resources
  • The Importance of content marketing

It becomes more important to keep your site and content up to date. Visitors and searchers are always looking for fresh new ideas to help solve their blogging, marketing and traffic problems.

So if you can add some new snippets of information to an old article sitting on your site and bring it forward in its new dress…Sure saves a lot of hard work and adds to your fresh updated appearance.

Omar Martin asked the Question: Are You doing The Right Thing for Right Now!

Omar Martin Questions and Explains about

“ARE YOU DOING THE RIGHT THINGS FOR “RIGHT NOW”?

Omar Martin was answering a question about how a beginner or even a little more experienced “marketer” could improve their results and begin to earn some income using affiliate marketing.

One thing I have heard Omar emphasize over and over (in coaching classes at My Unfair Advantage) is that each person who aspires to live the much touted “Guru Life Style” is in for a rude awakening.

There is no Shiny Magic Button.

When he begins to talk, if you want to succeed, then you had better listen.  Lets start listening now to some home truths he shared in our group.

Here’s a basic concept that eludes most people. I didn’t get it at first either but when it finally clicked, things started happening MUCH faster for me.

People always say “Model Success” – and it makes perfect sense right?

If you want what a man has then do what a man does”. Great saying.

Omar Martin asked the Question

Omar Martin asked the Question

HOWEVER…

you’ve got to understand that what a man is doing NOW to grow what he has

is NOT the same thing he did to GET what he has now.

Let me break it down for you…

  1. Those things I was doing daily in my online business to get to 5 figures were totally different than what I had to do to get to 6 figures.
  2. The things I had to do daily to get to 6 figures were totally different than the things I had to do to get to 7 figures.

Those things I’m doing daily NOW to get to 8 figures are COMPLETELY different than the things I was doing when I first started.

I mean some “core” things are the same: like checking emails and stuff like that, but then again, even a lot of those functions are much more streamlined now and I use assistants for a lot more things now as well. (Because he can afford it!)

The Lesson to be Learned!

The lesson to be learned here is that if you’re just starting out but trying to model EXACTLY what I’m doing now then you’ll probably fall flat on your face.

Notice I said “probably” cause there’s always that superstar that can jump into the game, take one look at what I’m doing, master it and then get even BETTER at it then me.

The Key to Adapting a Business Program.

  • *The key is to follow the steps I took to get me here, using the knowledge of how I broke through certain barriers and it will help you do it even faster than me.
  • *If you are expecting to jump on the scene and make 6 or 7 figures in a matter of months or even in your first year then you’ve got a rude awakening coming bro, and it’s gonna hit you right in the face. HARD.
  • *This is a business. Period. If you think of it ANY other way you’ll fail.
I don’t give a sh** what anybody says. Chances are if they tell you something different, they’re just trying to sell you something.

Most start up business out there don’t turn a profit for the first 5 years and that’s IF they make it past year number 3. This varies by industry, so do some research.

Do yourself a favor and stop trying to get rich tomorrow and stop looking for that easy button because this sh** right here takes hard freaking work.

Anything that’s worth anything always does.

  • There is no coach out there that can teach you work ethic and conviction.
  • And there’s no product out there that contains them either.
  • You’re either determined or you’re not.

“The cool thing about being an ONLINE business owner is that it takes very little start up capital, and you can build it piece by piece from your lap top in a spare room like Melinda and I did,” said Omar.

  • We had no extraordinary technical skills what so ever.
  • We just had conviction
  • Funny thing is that with enough conviction everything else falls into place.

Omar and Melinda have completely reworked their Flagship Membership Site:

My Unfair Advantage.

Joining is usually limited to an annual Special.  Pick your level of participation, check out how Omar lets you copy his Work Plan.  Read More

P.S. Reworded a little, but most of the above revised rant is from a post on Facebook inside the My Unfair Advantage group page, explaining why you can’t just be a beginner and start copying what Omar is doing right now and expect automatic success and why you will run into trouble.
Thanks for  reading.

By the way: I am an affiliate marketer and if you click on links on my site, they sometimes lead to a product for sale.

If you click and buy, I will of course be rewarded by the seller of the product.
One thing to keep in mind, buy only what will help you and what you need.  Read, listen to the videos, make a list of what will help you, then decide!

Pinterest Changes Now! Banning Affiliate Marketers Links

Whoah,

I was reading along on Facebook and ran across this article
about Pinterest. Seems they are now banning affiliate links.

Here is a small excerpt from the article….

“Build your own blog / brand
Provide added value
Link back to your site from third-party venues
Build a list
Create a relationship with those on your list
Care about your readers
Market to those people as if they were your friends and family

The message is and always will be – work to build a business (emphasis on WORK).”

http://netprofitstoday.com/blog/pinterest-bans-affiliate-links/

Since I had learned a hard lesson already, dealt out by Google through YouTube I was a little leery when it came to Pinterest

Pinterest Post Free Ebook

Pinterest Post Free Ebook

Even though Everyone said, Pinterest allows affiliate links, but I had this
doubt way down in my soul.

So for the most part, when I pinned anything
on Pinterest…that should have had an affiliate link in it…

I instead
linked back to a post on my site or

to a shared page site that I use and
let the affiliate link exist there…

either as a banner ad in the side bar

or a text ad in the content.

So except for a couple of videos pinned from YouTube that had

links in the first line of the description…everything was intact…..

All my links were to Posts or pages on my site or something that I had liked and

shared from someone else and the link was to their content on their website.

AdrienneSmith.net

AdrienneSmith.net

The moral of the whole story, is to build your own business, don’t depend on someone else or something they are letting you use.

Keep in mind, that if you don’t own it, you don’t control it. I’m not saying don’t use Social Sites or other programs,

just handle with care…you are a “renter” paid or unpaid. So your stay can be limited by your landlord….

I mean have you ever taken the trouble to read YouTube’s terms of Service especially when you are signing up to use something new?

I always notice that little threat so artfully inserted into that mountain of text:  This is being offered for free to use, but at a later date we might charge for this…Google, who just happens to be YouTube’s landlord.

Unfortunately the same thing can be said for paid programs that you use, especially if they are web hosted and not in your control. …..
Doesn’t happen very often, but sometimes things disappear and your house built on someone’s property comes tumbling down when the foundation is removed.

Have you ever had a nice surprise like that?  I’d be interested in the details.

Seems almost like they had a Secret

Super Power Social Sites Webinar and forgot to invite us to attend.

That is the reason, I started this article with the ending of the one I read.  Still true.  Depend on what you build and what you own and control.

Agree or Disagree….

Leverage Your Marketing Skills: Social Marketing Works

Leverage Your Marketing Skills and Become a Professional Marketer

Facebook is approaching the threshold of looking like an overcrowded
marketplace instead of an online backyard cookout with friends and
family.

Friends and Family

Friends and Family
Jenny-Erickson-sx-stock-happy-family.jpg

Gossiping in a group or posting on your wall about your recent
vacation or how and where you traveled can inundate your sidebar or
news feed with ads for related travel bargains.

Make an innocent remark, “I won $1,000 playing poker in Las Vegas,
but lost it all back gambling on 21″  and watch the sidebar start
flipping!

Even the most innocent task can bring a revelation!

I recently searched (using FireFox and Google) for a tool to unclog
a frozen drain. Ended up searching in Lowe’s, Home Depot and Ace
Hardware. Never gave it a thought…but I have cookies that target
my local stores so if something is available it will show in stock or
when available.

I finally found the tool in stock at Ace Hardware and called to
verify and requested that it be put on hold for me. Closed my tab,
opened another and clicked on my Facebook sign in reminder so nicely
displayed by Fox Fire.

First Like and Comment I made….nothing to do with plumbing…but
the sidebar flipped and here comes an Ad from Home Depot with a
picture of the exact tool I had searched for with the CTA, “click and
pick up in my named local store.”

Shock!

Does this ad just display to me, or because my Facebook
account profile is almost unrestricted, is everything I see visible
to others that I’ve liked and commented on their post when it is in
my news feed?

What if I had a need for adult diapers and searched for them at
Wal-mart, Walgreen’s or even Costco. Would I have gotten the benefit
of an ad about adult diapers?

I know all this operates on cookies in one way or another as a fellow
marketer in another Facebook  group explained , but it still left a tingling
in my mind to find out if the “cookie thing” could be leveraged for
marketing.

Define who you are and optimize your marketing efforts.

Since most of us belong to several groups that promote online
marketing it is important to note:

When you visit and comment, you are defining yourself, giving away tidbits of persona and opinion in a way that brands you.

It  has become  important to put your actions and reactions into your marketing plan because who you are perceived to be is who you are to your online friends and colleagues.

Learn Some Marketing Skills to Make Your Work Easier

With this in mind, learning a few marketing skills is a “Good Thing”
as marketing Guru Martha Stewart is fond of saying. She is a
marketing Guru because she has branded herself so well that I don’t
need to explain who Martha Stewart is. You know who she is and what she does.

It is becoming more important to include marketing skills in almost
everything you do including liking and commenting on Facebook and
Twitter.

Learn to listen as a marketer.

There are some elements of listening that go beyond being friends.

Marketing requires active analysis of what you are hearing. You are searching for ways to connect with people, to make the most of opportunities and leverage your connections and relationships.

When joining a group, become aware of group characteristics, analyze membership focus and determine what these members are seeking that motivated them to become a part of this group.

While many groups are  set up by marketers of a particular product as a “Bonus” it also has the effect of gathering people with similar goals but with different levels of competence at implementing strategies to accomplish their marketing ambitions.

Use your group membership to watch and learn from the members who know what they are doing.  Make friends and contacts, not in a self serving way, but share what you learn and be helpful to others.  Giving always reaps a return.

Decide What You Want to Leverage by Using Facts & Figures

Leveraging connections and relationships in a group doesn’t work if
done blind without useable data.

You need an overall picture of who is what, what they are really doing and even being able to focus on insights about their targeted goals for connection to a customer base.

Google analytics might be helpful, try using Facebook’s new insights
tool to add the sites you’d like to watch onto one of your Fan pages
so that you get a comparison with what you are doing.

Cut through the guessing and check out the good and the bad.

It will give you a clue if you go look at the sites and determine what is making someones site improve and on the reverse..what caused a site to sink in the rating stats.

In Facebook the rankings seems to be calculated on the number of shares, comments and likes but with unknown values.  One reason being that a like can turn into a share from someone who saw the like from a friend, but not where you posted!

Use as much data as you can assemble and interpret it to make a
decision about who to connect with in order to learn what techniques they are using to optimize their marketing leverage.

This may seem self interested, but it is all part of you striving to  develop professional marketing skills.

An easy picture of all this can be illustrated by email list building programs that keep insisting that developing a relationship with your subscribers and treating them well is likely more important than building a list to begin with.  The bottom line is you can build a list, but if they unsubscribe…what have you accomplished?

How Do You Connect and Engage Varied Types of People

As a Marketer you come into contact with many types of people.

Good marketers realize the fact that people have different personality types it is necessary to learn how to approach and engage them based on their own particular likes and dislikes.

Since marketing can be defined as communicating, then tactful skills
must be developed for doing this important job.

There is an old social saying that I often heard from my Grandmother, “don’t say what you are thinking, but think about what you are saying.

Adding this particular social skill to your professional marketing
tool kit can make a difference. That old adage: Don’t discuss
Religion and Politics in polite society, has stuck around for a reason.

Most of the online people you are in contact with, you never meet
personally and don’t know how involved or passionate they are about either of these subjects, so it is a case of take care!

A timely recommendation is available is from Miss Manners:

Leverage your Marketing Assets

Every marketer I have met is on a budget. Traffic, branding,

engaging other marketers, other contacts and potential customers is dependent on your advertising budget.

Since many new start up marketers have a zero budget it is time to become creative.
Using Twitter, bloggers you like and follow, Facebook groups, friends and followers on Twitter and Facebook are assets that can be leveraged without a large cash outflow but at the expense of your valuable time.

Develop your own contact system for getting in touch with people who are on your targeting list.
How you reach them is important as many prefer Twitter or Facebook or even commenters on their blog and are more engaged
when contacted on their preferred medium.
Think about who you connect with in either of these mediums to create an efficient system and prioritize your resources for more results with less effort.

Keep Yourself Up to Date

Don’t hide your head in the sand. Keep up to date with what is going
on in the real world and connect it to your Marketing world. Watch the news, check out what is trending in Google, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and even Pinterest.

Regardless of your intended market, if you just focus solely on that
one area it is easy to become disconnected.

Using popular and current events and information in your communications makes you an interesting and welcome contact.
Just look around Facebook for instance and notice whose posts have large numbers of comments and engagement.
Figure out how or what content or types of pictures the person is using to connect.

Concentrate on identifying what attracts peoples interest or pulls on their “heart strings” so that they keep returning, even if what is posted has been said in a slightly different way may times before.

Just an observation, posting about conquering an addiction, a chronic health issue, or even overcoming a big problem with your hosting company or a technical issue seems to draw in contacts who have or had a similar problem.  People love to talk about themselves so give them the opportunity.

Evaluate Your Marketing Efforts on a Schedule

It is easy to bury yourself in the details of what you are trying to
do, but teaching yourself to look at the overall picture of how you
are leveraging your marketing can be of immense benefit.

Planned haste in doing this doesn’t necessarily make waste, but optimizes your efforts and you become much more effective in your marketing. Schedule a time at least once a month to look at what you are using and doing and what kind of results you are getting.

How Can I Learn How To Do all this Leveraged Marketing?

Below is an excerpt from interesting article I picked up and read at Growth Hackers that focuses on using content marketing in
a different way. It includes some very valuable suggestions for several social marketing mediums and their use for Marketing:

“How to design successful social products with 3 habit-forming feedback loops by Andrew Chen On Twitter I’m @andrewchen.

Connecting content posters and consumers to drive relevance.

The way that content consumers participate in the feedback loop is
that they give feedback to content creators. But before they do that,
they need to have a method of picking what content is relevant to them on their home screens:

Picking people (Facebook, Twitter)
Picking topics (Quora, Stackexchange)
Leaderboards (Reddit, Hacker News)
Editorial curation (Medium)
Algorithmic curation (Flipboard, Prismatic)
Location (Foursquare, Highlight)
Anonymously matched (Secret)
… and more to be invented!

All of the above work, with different tradeoffs. Allowing people to
customize their content consumption based on people and topics is the
most scalable, but the hardest to get started. “

Access to the rest of the article: http://andrewchen.co/2014/03/17/how-to-design-successful-social-products-with-3-habit-forming-feedback-loops/

Another Way to educate yourself about Marketing:

Find a group that is interested in digital Marketing and join. Do a
search on Facebook and Google for digital marketing groups. Look them over and decide which one is offering what you need to learn.

People love to share their knowledge and techniques.

My recommendation: Growth Hackers this site is loaded with over-the-top Posts written by extremely knowledgeable people who are sharing.
Growth Hackers is free to join, plus you have the opportunity to make a contribution by posting there.

In Conclusion:

Leverage Marketing is a skill that every marketer needs to develop.
Marketing works online in the internet and is still just as effective offline.

Word of mouth, classified ads, magazines, television, bill boards and
radio…the list is endless of ways to market. Each type of marketing
has its own set of skills that are required to become  effective at using it.
Decide on your marketing category and develop your skills.  The payoff will be worth working for.

Coaching Review: Marketing Where to Draw the Line

Coaching:

This Review about Marketing Tips is part of a

coaching program and is definitely a benefit.

I’m getting told to stop buying all the junk.

A lot of marketers are still selling products that are presented as something that is going to kickstart your efforts into a huge income bonanza in a week.

This isn’t a blueprint for success or a consistent platform for future success.  It is often something that worked for that marketer because he or she had a support structure in place that could take advantage of this particular software or strategy.

So, depending on the marketer, they decide to share and create a “product” that is shared either privately with other “Gurus” or send it out their followers and recruited JVs (joint venture partners).

I added this explanation of a JV because there is probably someone like me who is still learning the marketers vocabulary and doesn’t realize the real source of all those recommendations that pile up in your inbox every day.

If you are on several mailing lists, depending on the level of sophistication of your subscribed-to marketers…you notice that some of the emails are copied and pasted from somewhere.  Except for the difference in the link to click on, it is like watching the exact same TV ad to buy a Kitchen Aide Blender, except it is on sale at Wal-mart instead of Macys.

All these wonderful offers might work for someone whose level of development and growth has a structure in place to take advantage of a probably temporarily unsaturated technique.

I watch a lot of webinars because like the rest of you, I’m still searching, even though I try to keep focused and work on what I already have.  Plus, I’m a nosey Bessie and want to keep up with what is going on.  Never know, you might hit the gold!

Some things that have stuck:  Remarks that I’ve heard Jason Fladlien make in more that one of his webinar presentations.

No Quote Marks anywhere in this, because it is all what I remember and less, because Jason talks fast and gets so excited you might call it Audio Spam!

Internet marketing requires speed.  When something new comes along, don’t buy it and store it on your hard drive. The minute you download it, go through it and use it the same day.

If you aren’t going to use it, then don’t buy this.  I don’t want tire kickers buying and requesting refunds.  Refunds are not a problem, it is just a personal preference that I have. I want to help people improve their marketing outcome, not waste time downloading and not using what I am offering.

Who gets there first, gets the money.  That is what this is all about. But, he is quick to emphasize this point:

This isn’t just about the money, it is also about providing your subscribers and buyers with value.

Jason emphasizes and states over and over…many times on a webinar that he will give the lucky attendees 90% of whatever he is selling.

This is value.  No quotes, because this is what I remember him saying.

Except for a few of my own tweaks that are being sold in whatever I am offering, you could take what I have given you on this webiar and implement it today and earn from it. The difference between using what I have given you on this webinar and what you get in the offer is going to be the speed and ease of setup and how much you eventually earn.

I have also noticed that a consistent part of any offer he makes is videos and written instructions for setting up and using the offer.  If you are technically challenged this can make the difference and is part of that Value he talks about.

Enough on Jason Fladlien.

The point that might have gotten lost in the shuffle is this:

Learn to critically assess any of the Marketed offers that come into your Inbox.

Criterior number one should be this:  With what I have in place…a blog on my domain, a Facebook Fan Page, Google Blogs, WordPress com sites, Squidoo, etc.  can I use this offer and integrate it into what I have to improve the results that I am now getting.

To my sorrow, I have in the past bought programs, gone through them and half heartedly used them with dismal results.

An older and more informed assesment reveals this one flaw in many of the programs marketed today and in the past:

Traffic=Money

While many will load you up with a “Bonus” for getting traffic to your site and offers, unless you have the cash on hand for a super Keyword targeted PAID advertising campaign, you’ve just bought some more Hard Drive clutter.

Worse are the ones that include an OTO to the venders suggested backlink farms (which of course cost a pretty penny) and result in de-indexing of your site by Google. Even though they will pre-sell this offer as not needing SEO, Google, Facebook ad infinitum, but is their Traffic solution.

A funny footnote for this ramble is this.  Windows 7 which I recently upgraded to has an interesting feature:  Explorer Search

I can use it to even search my usb portable drive that I plugged into my computer after removing it from my old unfunctioning XP based computer.

So if you run across an interesting Earth Shaking offer, search your hard drives, use the offer name or the venders name and see what you already have.  You probably have the program already, but are just missing some small piece of software like a new plugin or added bonus that can be acquired under a different name somewhere else and will function for you.

Or even better, you might have unsubscribed from updates and just need to visit the program’s members area, sign in and get the update.
If you have a program from an active marketer who didn’t bite the dust after selling, then to maintain his reputation he keeps his original offer up to date and many includede free updates for life.

This is especially true for WordPress plugins or binary programs that you use on your desktop. Some get a little hard nosed at times and slightly change the program name so it isn’t just an update, but will often give credit to owners through support for the original purchase so they can “update to the new version” at a discounted price.

I’ve strayed from my beginning thoughts.  My coach did say, “clean out your main email account, move subscritions or unsubscribe and Stop buying.”

The following is what I fixed in my mind, not a direct quote.

Right now you need to concentrate on setting up your mind and thought process instead of buying any more programs that you don’t use.  Included are a whole weeks worth of videos that must be watched in the coaching members area (If you skip one, you get a notice….).

It amounts to:  You paid me to coach you.  If you want the results you are seeking, How to Make a Living on the Internet, then do what I tell you.  You may not think these videos are necessary, but they are.  They made a big difference in what has made me succesful.  They will do the same for you.

I watched these videos several years after I started making “Big” money doing what I do.  I feel so strongly about the information included, that I went to the producer of these videos and bought rights from him so I could include them in my coaching program.

Watch every video and even download the provided audios so you can listen to them when you are doing other things like: driving to work, jogging, raking leaves or even hiking.

Repetiton works.

This is important. Do it or leave.  I can’t help you.
The unsubscribe button is at the bottom of all my emails.

I plan to post this review of what I am learning in my Marketing category, because there are evidently some things to learn about marketing that aren’t included in just plain old marketing This-is- how-you-do-it programs.

To be continued.

P.S.  This is my effort to give value.  So if I have given you something worth thinking about then good or bad (I post them all except for Spam) comment and contribute your 2 cents worth!

Here is Jeremy’s Article from Ezine that tells the story

Expert Author Jeremy A Gislason

People who want to improve their website conversion rate are on the right path. After all, if there’s a way to make more money from the same amount of visitors, then there’s no reason why they shouldn’t pursue it, right?

However, improving your online conversion rate isn’t as easy as it seems. Think about it. How can you persuade lurking visitors to actually make a purchase when they only want to “look around?” And how can you convince customers to buy more than they’ve set out to? Think no more! This article will teach you what you need to know about getting more sales from your visitors.

Conversion Booster #1: Be Very Subtle.

Perhaps the easiest customers to persuade are those who have bought from you before. For one, you’ve already succeeded once. And for another, you now have a better idea of the kind of people you’re dealing with.

One example is a customer who has bought a beginner’s scrap-booking kit from you last month. Obviously, that customer is now done with it and has come looking for something new.

If you want to get that person to buy from you again, don’t look too eager to make a profit. Avoid putting up copies that say, “if you bought x scrapbook, then you should definitely buy the y scrapbook!” That’s just such a turn off.

Instead, direct your focus on your customer. Amazon’s “people who have bought x also bought y” is a good strategy. It gives customers options and insights without being forced to actually make a purchase.

Conversion Booster #2: Create a Simple Survey.

A survey is a great way to improve online conversion rate. Why? Because it gives you insight as to why people aren’t buying as much, what kinds of products they like and what they don’t like… straight from the horse’s mouth!

Knowing all these things can help you figure out what other products you can introduce to your customers and what else you can do to spark their interest.

When making a survey, make sure to give your customers choices (but limit them to two or three) on what to answer. This will help speed up the tallying process and will give you a clear answer on what needs to be done! By using a survey, you’re getting your input straight from the source.

Conversion Booster #3: Use Live Chat.

If you want to hear more from the people who visit your website, you might want to consider setting up a live chat on your page. This enables visitors (even non-customers) to leave comments and suggestions which might prove to be useful information.

In real time, you’ll be able to know that one particular visitor is looking for a specific e-Book which you don’t have yet. You’ll also learn that another visitor liked your review on product b and is now thinking of buying it.

However, live chats also come with risks. Some people might leave a less than flattering message on the chat, too. The decision is up to you.

Conversion Booster #4: Keep Payment Methods Simple.

Another effective way to improve website conversion rate is to keep the payment methods simple. People like efficiency. No matter what kind of customer they are (either those who look around first or those who know exactly what they want), in the end, they all want payment to be swift and painless.

No customer wants to deal with too many processes just to complete one purchase. The more efficient your system is, the better. If you’ve been having glitches, you’d better make the time to sort that out before putting your website back up again.

One aggravated customer could spell disaster for your online reputation. Keep in mind that word-of-mouth spreads fast. On the other hand, if a customer has bought something from you before and has had no trouble processing payment, then you can have more chances of getting a repeat purchase in the future (as long as they want or need the product, of course).

Conversion Booster #5: Talk to Them Again.

Improving online conversion rate doesn’t end with the website. If you can, why don’t you take the whole thing one step further and actually contact the customer through email or telephone?

Of course, you’re not supposed to contact them without their knowledge. That’s just plain rude and annoying. But perhaps you can ask interested prospects to leave their contact details should they wish to learn more about a certain product. Those who leave their details are more or less your buyers. That’s your cue to make the call. The deal is already half made. All you have to do is convince them to proceed with their order.

There are plenty of ways to improve your website conversion rate. The first thing you need to know though is that nothing is impossible. No matter how dismal the situation looks, you can still do something to boost your conversion rate. Tell yourself that everyone wants to make a purchase. All they need is a nice push in the right direction.
